Solar
Panels Boost Ashton Hayes Carbon Neutral Effort
Local solar panel installer,
Country Electrics, has just completed the installation of the
first solar electric panels in Ashton Hayes, supporting the village’s
bid to go Carbon Neutral.
The
2.6kWp installation in Peel Hall Park, includes an array of
20 roof mounted panels, which will provide an electrical output
of around 1,875 kW hours per annum. This is over 50% of the
average household’s electricity consumption in the UK.
We are very proud to be part of this first installation in Ashton Hayes,” says
Stephen Davies of Country Electrics. “Harnessing the sun’s energy
to produce electricity is just common sense. Modern solar panels work on overcast
days as well as in direct sun light, they are maintenance free and have a life
warranty of over 20 years.”
Stephen is no stranger to solar PV panels, having recently completed a circumnavigation
on a 34ft yacht equipped with solar panels. Stephen relied on his solar panels
to get him from Thailand to the Red Sea on a 41-day, single handed crossing. “Without
them I would have had no navigation instruments or radio communications. I
would probably still be sailing around in circles now.”
On returning to England in 2005, Stephen set up Country Electrics and completed
his ‘City and Guilds Installation and Testing Certification for Photovoltaic
Systems’, to become one of Cheshire’s leading PV suppliers and
installers.
